Marjan Kamali’s ‘The Lion Women of Tehran’ roared to the top of the bestsellers list.
Iranian-American author Marjan Kamali’s newest hit, ‘The Lion Women of Tehran,’ touches on friendship, betrayal and redemption across three decades in Tehran, Iran. In our talk, Marjan recalls that while scrolling through Instagram, she saw a woman she’d been childhood friends in Iran long ago, sharing their dreams of who they’d become. ‘The friendships we make when we’re little truly shape who we become, and their influence lasts even if the friendship doesn’t,’ says Kamali. That was the genesis for ‘The Lion Women of Tehran,’ a real Persian phrase used for women. Tune in to learn what it means!
