Is there a print version of The Girlfriend that you can send me?
The Girlfriend is a digital-only lifestyle publication that you can enjoy on a computer, smartphone or tablet.
-
Why is AARP publishing a newsletter and website focused on women 40 and older?
To best support those 40 and older, AARP needs to “get you.” AARP aims to connect with the people we serve — people from all walks of life — in an authentic and personalized way. So, we offer unique and varied programs, platforms and resources. With 38 million members, we tailor additional offerings for rural Americans, veterans and active-duty military, Spanish speakers, caregivers, LGBTQ adults, those living with diabetes and on and on.
-
I’d like to write for The Girlfriend. Where can I send story ideas?
You can send a link to your professional website, podcast, blog or portfolio of published work, along with your pitch, to thegirlfriend@aarp.org. Please put “pitch” in the subject line. We are ALWAYS happy to receive ideas. Because ours is a digital publication, we are looking for the honest, the personal and the surprising — but in pieces that are typically no more than 500 to 750 words. We want the uncommon, the stuff you don’t see everywhere else. (Always look at The Girlfriend before pitching.) We’re interested in the topics that interest you: sex, relationships, beauty, lifestyle, career, and parenting.
-
How can I advertise on The Girlfriend?
Just contact us at thegirlfriend@aarp.org and please put “advertising” or “sponsorship” in the subject line in order to receive more information.
-
How do I change my email address for receiving The Girlfriend newsletter?
You’ll need to unsubscribe your old email address and sign up with your new email address here: https://cp.email.aarp.org/gfns
-
How do I unsubscribe?
We hope you don’t, but if you really want to, you can unsubscribe by clicking on "unsubscribe" at the bottom of any email that you receive from us.
